6 Tips on How You Can Throw the BEST Party

As an event producer I have thrown various kinds of parties ranging everywhere from music festivals and concerts to mansion parties and house warming.  Ultimately the goal of any party is to bring people together and have a good time.  So want to throw a party that even the most popular socialites would be envious of? Here are 6 tips to help you throw a red carpet worthy party!

  1. Know your Budget

No matter if your budget is $200 or $10,000 know what it is and stick to it. Other wise you may find yourself in a hole after the party. This means creating a budget and following it. You budget should include everything: food/drink, party accessories, venue costs, etc.

  1. Planning is Everything

You need to know the basics so that you can plan accordingly.

  • How many people are you inviting?
  • Is there a theme?
  • Where are you holding the party?
  • What time of day?
  • What kind of party accessories are you considering? (party lights, music, food, drinks)
  • Are you going to have a food/drink table/bar for guests to help themselves or will you serve it?
  • Plan to give yourself time the day after the party to clean up any party messes!

Be sure to organize these plans so that you can make your life easier. Write or type your plans down.  The more organized you stay – the easier it will be on yourself.

  1. Use those Connections

If you don’t have to plan this party by yourself- then don’t!  Enlist some of your friends to help you.  The best parties bring friends together to make new ones.  Don’t be afraid to overlap your invite groups to bring a new mix of people together.

  1. Music Makes the World Go-Round

Set the mood with a great playlist of music. Think about the vibe you want to set for your guests. Are you going for a dance party, a relaxed hangout, or an elegant affair?  Make sure your playlist/DJ is creating the perfect ambiance for your shindig!

  1. E-vite Baby!

The world is now digital. It’s quick, easy, and FREE! Send your guests invitations using services such as evite.com or even Facebook. Send your guests an invitation at least 3 weeks in advance and follow up a few days before the event to make sure they remember to come to your epic party.

  1. Relax and Have Fun

Congratulations on throwing a party! Now it’s your time to relax, have some fun, and spend quality time with your guests.  You deserve it!
